Live flight data is temporarily unavailable. Open the airport's official board
Sharjah runs everything through one passenger terminal, so there is no wrong building to arrive at and no terminal to check on a boarding pass. What is worth checking is the flight board, the way out, and — if something has gone wrong with a flight — which set of rules you are actually under, because the answer changes completely depending on which way you were flying.
This is an independent guide, not the airport’s own site.
Checking a flight
The arrivals and departures boards run on a live feed. They answer the only two questions worth asking in the car park: has it landed, and has the departure moved.
Getting out of the terminal
The airline’s coach service is the cheapest way into Dubai and to the northern emirates, and for most people it is simply the answer — see buses and coaches for where it goes and when it stops. Metered taxis wait at the rank in arrivals and cost more, with a fixed surcharge added to every journey that starts at the airport. A pre-booked car is the one you arrange before you fly, and it buys something the other two cannot: a named vehicle that exists at the hour you land, with somebody waiting whether or not the flight was late.
Renting a car is a different decision from any of those. It is worth it for a week in the Emirates and rarely worth it for a single journey into Dubai, and the daily rate is not the whole of what it costs: tolls and traffic fines arrive after you have handed the car back.
When a flight goes wrong
This is where Sharjah is unlike most airport guides, and it is worth knowing before you queue at a desk. A flight into Sharjah from Europe or the UK can be worth a cash claim — that is what the compensation page is for, and it lists exactly which routes qualify. A flight out of Sharjah carries no fixed payout, and does carry two things people rarely ask for: care from the airline, and a claim for what the delay actually cost you — what a UAE airline owes you.
Both answers matter more than they look. Most people at a delayed gate here are entitled to something and ask for nothing.
